Ethernet motion cards are convenient in that they do not need to be installed directly into the computer thus allowing you to use a laptop computer as the machine tool controller as long as the laptop has a network interface card (NIC) installed for Ethernet connectivity. These cards are equipped with a DIN rail mount for easy mounting to any cabinet. Ethernet motion cards are not recommended for high-speed applications. If high feed rates with tight geometry profiles like splined surfacing are required, then the PCI version of the motion card is recommended.

Installation Procedure for Windows 10

IMPORTANT! Install CamSoft software before you install the motion card.

Follow the link to an article with help for Camsoft software installation https://www.cncprofessional.online/how-to-install-camsoft-cnc-professional-software-on-windows-10/

IMPORTANT! CamSoft DOES NOT recommend that you install any motion card manufacturer software on the same computer with the CamSoft software.

Prepare Galil motion controller

  1. Perform a master reset on the controller. With power disconnected to the controller, add a jumper across the MRST pins on the controller (fig 1)
  2. Apply power to the controller. Allow a minute or two for the controller to boot up and reset to factory default settings.
  3. Disconnect power to the controller.
  4. Remove the jumper.
